SHARJAH: Pakistan defeated the United Arab Emirates by 31 runs in the fifth match of the tri-series T20I.
In the match played in Sharjah cricket stadium, the UAE team could score 140 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in pursuit of 172 runs.
Ali Shan Sharfoo was the standout batsman for UAE with 68 runs. Captain Mohammad Wasim 19, Haider Ali 12, Ethan D’Souza 9, Asif Khan 7, Harshit Kaushik 3 and Rahul Chopra were dismissed for individual scores of 0.
Dhruv Parashar returned to the pavilion not out after scoring 18 runs.
For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed took 4 wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated overs.
Fakhar Zaman was the standout batsman for Pakistan, scoring 77 not out. Mohammad Nawaz returned to the pavilion after scoring 37 not out.
Sahibzada Farhan 16, Mohammad Haris 14, Saim Ayub 11, Captain Salman Agha 7, and Hassan Nawaz 4 were out.
Haider Ali took 2 wickets for UAE, while Mohammad Rohid, Dhruv Parashar and Junaid Siddiqui took 1 wicket each.
