ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected the Afghan Taliban government’s claim that the ‘Omaid Hospital’ was targeted in the Pakistan Air Force strikes.
The ministry said that the available evidence shows that the actual hospital is a multi-storey building, which has no connection with the military structure, and its photographs have also been released.
The statement said that there is a clear difference between the facts and the claims. The X-post added that an important question is also why the alleged drug rehabilitation center was established near a military-type location, where deadly ammunition was present. This matter still needs to be answered.
According to the Ministry of Information, the initial post and video claiming that the ‘drug rehabilitation center’ was targeted have also been deleted from the official X-account of the Afghan Taliban.
The statement raised questions about whether the content was generated by artificial intelligence (AI) that could not withstand various fact checks. The ministry says the Afghan Taliban appear to be retreating from their controversial and allegedly fabricated post.
According to the Ministry of Information, the hospital in question is actually located several kilometers from Camp Phoenix, while the operation was carried out last night at a location where military and terrorist weapons and equipment were being stored.
