Pakistan to issue visas on arrival to foreign delegates, journalists for US-Iran talks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to grant visas on arrival to all foreign delegates, journalists and related persons coming to participate in the Islamabad talks 2026, according to a statement issued by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on ‘X.

Under this facility, airlines have been directed to allow all such persons to board without a visa, while Pakistani immigration authorities will issue visas on arrival at airports.

A statement issued on social media by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan welcomes all foreign delegations and journalists coming in connection with the Islamabad talks 2026.

According to the statement, the concerned airlines have been directed to allow boarding without a visa to all such passengers who are traveling in connection with this conference.

An urgent official letter issued by the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control on April 10, 2026, has also emerged in support of this decision.

The letter clarified that all those coming for the Islamabad Talks 2026 will be provided with a visa on arrival, and special facilitation desks have also been set up at the airports for this purpose.

According to the official letter, airlines have been directed to allow the concerned passengers to travel without a prior visa, while immigration authorities will issue visas on their arrival.

The letter has also been sent to all relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, FIA, and Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority to ensure implementation.

This initiative is being described as a special arrangement to facilitate foreign participants and media representatives and reduce travel hurdles during the Islamabad Talks 2026.

Islamabad fully prepared as foreign delegations arrive for US-Iran talks

Security and administrative preparations have entered the final stage in view of the arrival of foreign delegations for the expected talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad.

A detailed review of the security plan and other arrangements was taken in a special meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

During the meeting, the Interior Minister directed the relevant agencies to take all necessary measures to ensure the security and hospitality of the visiting foreign guests. Mohsin Naqvi said that holding the US-Iran talks in Islamabad after the ceasefire is an honor for Pakistan.

It was decided in the meeting that the Red Zone will be completely sealed, and only relevant personnel will be allowed to enter, while a special control room has also been established at the Interior Ministry.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, IG Islamabad Police, Commissioner Rawalpindi, DG FIA, DC Islamabad, Rangers, Federal Constabulary and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and agreed to make the security arrangements more effective.
