PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has strongly criticized the federal government for the sharp increase in the prices of petroleum products, while announcing major relief for motorcyclists.
While holding a press conference in Peshawar, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi said that Pakistan has faced serious situations, there is tension in Pak-Afghan relations, the Iran-Israel situation is in front of you, an atomic bomb of petrol has been dropped on the people, PTI and KP government reject it.
He said that the provincial government has completely rejected the increase of Rs 55, instead of burdening the people, the elite people should reduce their lavish spending, the world was in the grip of Corona, when the price of petrol increased by a few rupees, these people were shouting, today the same government that was shouting at that time increased Rs 55.
Sohail Afridi said that they have burdened the people by increasing the fare by Rs 55, they do not reduce their protocol and lavish spending but they do not avoid burdening the people, we will not support the government in any policy that is anti-people, there is a fear that there may be a shortage of petrol in the future, suggestions have also been given in this regard.
He said that we did not do politics at that time when the flood caused destruction, we supported them, we did not do politics on Nawaz Sharif’s health but today politics is being done on the health of the founder of PTI, he should be treated in the hospital of his choice in the presence of the founder’s personal doctors.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced that the provincial government will pay Rs 22 billion for 1.5 million registered motorcycle users in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, despite the increase in petrol prices, there will be no increase in BRT fares, the provincial government will pay the cost of 40 BRTs itself.
He said that more BRT buses have been ordered, of which 10 pink buses will be used for women, a package will be announced soon for farmers, and the solarization project for 130,000 households will be completed soon.
He said that the salaries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly members have not been increased, we have imposed a ban on foreign travel at government expense, our government helicopter has been destroyed in which two pilots have been martyred, we have not yet purchased a new helicopter, but on the other hand, a plane worth 11 billion was purchased in Punjab.
Sohail Afridi said that the federal and Punjab governments are busy purchasing new vehicles, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has not purchased any new vehicles, we have created a monitoring dashboard through which checks and balances will be maintained at all petrol pumps in the province.
