KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is experiencing a technical crisis as a software glitch in its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has brought its office operations to a standstill.
The ERP system, which manages employee-related matters such as medical issues and leave approvals, has been malfunctioning, affecting PIA offices nationwide, including Karachi.
According to sources, the IT department is working to resolve the issue, but it may take up to two days to fix the glitch. A PIA spokesperson confirmed that efforts are underway to restore the system, but did not provide a specific timeline for its resolution.
The spokesperson’s statement suggests that the airline is working diligently to address the issue and minimize the impact on its operations.
The technical error has caused significant disruptions to PIA’s operations, highlighting the importance of a functional ERP system in managing the airline’s internal processes.
