PM Shehbaz launches Rs 38 billion Ramadan Relief Package

Govt likely to raise salaries 7% and pensions 5% in upcoming budget

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister announced the allocation of Rs 38 billion. The package was formally launched by the Prime Minister by pressing a button. According to the Prime Minister, this amount will be transferred to the eligible families in the federal capital, all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir through digital wallets and digital bank accounts.

Every eligible family will be provided Rs 13,000 without discrimination during Ramadan. Payments will also be made to more than 2.1 million families who are not part of any government sponsorship program. A huge amount of Rs 10 billion has also been allocated for the already eligible families.

In this way, the funds will be distributed to a total of 1.21 million families without discrimination, which will take the total number of eligible people to 60 million. Payments will be made through bank accounts and digital wallets. A high-level committee comprising federal ministers will monitor all stages of the Ramadan package. Helpline 9999 has also been established for the convenience of the public.
