KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has urged the federal government to ease the burden of electricity bills on the public. He called for a reduction in electricity costs to be announced on Independence Day, highlighting that current bills are excessively high and unaffordable for many.
Additionally, Zardari emphasized the need for immediate relief and urged both federal and provincial governments to develop a plan to lower tariffs.
He stressed that such measures would provide significant relief to the public.
Moreover, in related news, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has promised that the government will soon provide ‘good news’ about a reduction in electricity prices.
During an Independence Day ceremony, PM Sharif acknowledged the hardships caused by high electricity bills and assured that the government is working on a plan to address this issue.
He also mentioned that a five-year economic plan will be presented soon.
