PESHAWAR: Amid the ongoing power load-shedding, protestors stormed Bannu and Kurram Garhi grid stations and forcefully switched on the feeders, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) said on Monday.
According to the PESCO spokesperson, angry protestors stormed grid stations last night and restored supply on the feeders closed for the repair work. Forcefully turning feeders on during repair times can result in serious harm to the staff, he added.
Furthermore, he said, CCTV footage showed protesters using metal tools to switch on the feeders, which could lead to severe accidents.
Legal action will be taken against the protestors who stormed the grid station, the company spokesperson said, adding that, it has become routine for the protesters to assault the staff at the grid stations.
Earlier, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur threatened to take control of office of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) if ‘loadshedding isn’t reduced.
