RAWALPINDI: The Safe City project has been officially activated in Rawalpindi, and e-challans will be issued for violation of traffic rules.
Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam has said that e-challans have been started for traffic violations with the help of Safe City cameras.
He said that more than 2,000 cameras have been installed at 359 locations in the city, and now there will be automatic challans for violations of traffic rules.
The CTO said that e-challans will be issued for helmet, seat belt, signal violation, and other violations, and an e-challan will be sent to the owner’s home address with pictures and code.
He said that the e-challan system is linked to the Safe City Command and Control Center, he said that Safe City cameras will also further improve traffic management.
