Sale, purchase of toy guns & firecrackers banned ahead of Eidul Fitr

Sale purchase of toy guns & firecrackers banned ahead of Eidul Fitr

PESHAWAR: The district administration Peshawar has ordered a ban on selling and purchasing toy guns and firecrackers in the city under Section 144 to maintain law and order during the upcoming Eid celebrations.

The move seeks to avert possible disturbances and is intended to provide a safe environment for the public, with violators facing action under Section 188.

This administration has warned stern actions against those found selling or purchasing toy guns and firecrackers, especially during festivals of Eid. This step was taken because of the recent increase of terrorist activities in the region.

Earlier, a suicide blast on 17 February targeting a Frontier Corps convoy in Naushki, Balochistan, resulted in the martyrdom of at least six people, three of whom were FC personnel.

In the ensuing operation, security forces meticulously responded and killed three terrorists in addition to the suicide bomber. A clearance operation was carried out to ensure that no terrorists could escape and all ways of escape were blocked.

Earlier, a policeman was killed and six injured in a roadside blast in Quetta on Saturday. The explosion went off when an ATFpoliced vehicle was on patrol, and seven other members of their forces were wounded.
