RAWALPINDI: The district administration has once again extended Section 144 across Rawalpindi city. According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema, Section 144 has been extended for another 15 days, which will now be in effect until January 22.
According to the notification, under Section 144, there will be a complete ban on meetings, processions, rallies and all kinds of gatherings across the city.
In addition, the ban on the use of loudspeakers and display of weapons will also remain in effect.
The district administration says that the purpose of implementing Section 144 is to maintain law and order in the city and ensure prevention of any untoward incident.
In case of violation, action will be taken under the relevant laws.
