PESHAWAR: Pakistani security agencies have arrested Major Dil Bahar Singh, a serving officer of the Indian Army, from the outskirts of Peshawar in a major operation.
According to intelligence reports, Major Dil Bahar Singh was active as an imam of a mosque under the name of ‘Dawood Shah’ and was part of a network of espionage and sabotage in Pakistan.
According to sources, Pakistani intelligence agencies conducted very close surveillance for several weeks and arrested the accused in a secret operation during Fajr prayers.
Initial investigations have revealed that Major Dil Bahar Singh was on a mission to collect sensitive military and intelligence information as well as spread communal hatred, to cause internal chaos and unrest in Pakistan.
It should be remembered that Pakistan has arrested several Indian agents before. The most prominent example is Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was arrested in Balochistan in March 2016.
