Security drill schedule at various location in Islamabad: DC

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad District administration has announced security drills on Friday amid the rising situation between Pakistan and India.

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon said that security drills have been scheduled today at various location that includes the Centaurus Mall, Zarghoon Plaza, and Khudadad Heights.

The administration has requested the citizens not to panic as Siren shall be activated as part of the drill.

In another development, Cambridge International Education (CIE) and the British Council have cancelled all tests scheduled for Friday, May 9, in Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, the Islamabad Capital Territory, and Punjab province.

The decision impacts students at Cambridge Direct and British Council schools who take O Level, IGCSE, and International AS & A Level examinations.

“This only applies to exams on Friday 9 May,” they stated, adding that they will “update schools by the evening of Sunday 11 May” regarding tests scheduled for Monday.

Earlier, the federal government announced that all public and private schools and colleges would remain closed.

According to a notification issued by the District Magistrate, all public and private schools will remain closed in Islamabad on May 09 and 10, 2025 (Friday-Saturday).
