ISLAMBAD: Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed is set to become an approver against PTI founder Imran Khan, presenting evidence related to the events of May 9.
Speaking on media , Vawda said that Faiz Hameed will testify and provide proof regarding the May 9 incidents, adding that the case is now moving directly toward the PTI founder. According to him, if substantial evidence is brought forward, Imran Khan could face trial in military courts.
Vawda said that he had been expelled from the party a year before the May 9 events, and he had repeatedly warned against taking steps that would lead to an irreversible situation.
He further claimed that Imran Khan now appears to be falling within the scope of the May 9 investigation. Vawda added that once the evidence surfaces, PTI leaders who distanced themselves but were involved at the time, including those currently in jail , will also be brought forward for accountability.
