Shab-e-Miraj expected holiday date announced

RAWALPINDI: On the 27th night of the Islamic month of Rajab, Muslims in Pakistan and around the world celebrate Shab-e-Miraj with reverence and religious devotion in remembrance of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) miraculous voyage.

According to Islamic custom, the night commemorates the Prophet Muhammad’s enchanted journey from the Kaaba to Masjid al-Aqsa, where he led prayers. After that, the Messenger rode the celestial animal known as “al-Buraq” to the skies, where he encountered the Almighty and got instructions.

Many give special prayers and recite the Quran, while others observe fasts, as a way for followers to commemorate the auspicious night with significant significance each year.

The occasion is also an opportunity to enhance one’s relationship with Allah, grow in faith, and reaffirm one’s dedication to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Special prayers are offered in mosques and homes throughout Pakistan in order to ask for the Almighty’s blessings.

Shab-e-Miraj’s anticipated date is 2025

The month of Rajab will start on December 30, 2024, and Shab-e-Meraj will be observed on January 24, 2025, if Jamadiul Sani is 29 days long.

In Pakistan, the holy night will be held on January 25, 2025, if the month of Rajab starts on December 31.

Holiday of Shab-e-Meraj

A public holiday will be observed on January 25 (Monday) if the holy night is observed on January 24, and on January 25 if Shab-e-Meraj is observed on January 26.
