Winter holidays announced for govt schools in Islamabad

Govt extends revised school timings amid cold wave until Feb 4

ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has announced winter vacations for all educational institutions under its jurisdiction, here on Wednesday.

According to an official notification, schools will remain closed from December 30, 2024, to January 8, 2025. Classes are scheduled to resume on January 9, 2025.

On the other hand, according to a notification, private educational institutions in the federal capital will remain closed for winter vacations from December 21 to January 5. Classes are scheduled to resume on January 6, 2025.

The School Education Department Punjab had also announced a change in the dates of winter vacations in schools across the province. The winter vacations began on December 23.

The department made this decision in a notification. According to the new plan, schools will reopen on January 13, 2025, after the winter vacations. The revised schedule applies to all government and private schools across the province.
