Shahid Afridi opens up about political ambitions

LONDON: Former Pakistan team captain Shahid Afridi has admitted that he had wanted to join a political party in the past.

A few days ago, while talking to the media in London,  former cricketer, without naming any party, said, ‘I wanted to join a party in the past, but I changed my mind between 2019 and 2020.’

The former all-rounder said, ‘During this time, I decided that politics is not my thing, so I cannot join.’

Addressing the media representatives,  Afridi also said, ‘You all should pray that I stay away from politics because this is my plan, only Allah knows the future.’

During this,  Afridi also praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her performance.

The former cricketer raised the slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ without answering a question about former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
