ISLAMABAD: As the US President Donald Trump declared March 2025 as ‘Women’s History Month’, the US Embassy in Islamabad has shared snippets from the visit of former US First Ladies to Pakistan.

On March 6, POTUS signed a proclamation and announced that the ongoing month will be attributed to the United States’ women in history, who have been integral to the country’s prosperity and productivity.

“Every day, without fame or fanfare, women inspire, support, and strengthen their families, communities, and our country. Women’s History Month presents a great opportunity to celebrate the tremendous impact women continue to have on our Nation,” President Trump stated.

In this regard, the Embassy of the United States in Islamabad has shared the memories from the visit of former U.S. First Ladies Jacqueline Kennedy, Pat Nixon, and Laura Bush to Pakistan.

“The Office of the First Lady of the United States of America has long contributed to international relations, and today, it is held by Melania Trump,” the Embassy wrote.

U.S. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy visited Pakistan in 1962, while First Lady Pat Nixon along with President Nixon visited the country in 1969. In 2006, President George W. Bush’s wife Laura Bush paid an official visit to Pakistan.
