ISLAMABAD: Earthquake tremors jolted the federal capital of Islamabad and some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing panic among the residents as people came out of their houses and offices.
The earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale. According to the data released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) the depth of the earthquake was 114 Km, whereas the epicenter was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
Initial reports say the quake was also felt in Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and nearby districts, including Swat, Peshawar, and Chitral۔
