Telecom operators increase call and internet package rates

ISLAMABAD: Various telecom service providers of Pakistan have increased tariffs of multiple mobile packages after obtaining approval for revised tariffs from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The PTA has published the updated tariff details of 15 hybrid packages and only data packages on its website, where one can compare the pricing, validity period, and perks offered in different mobile packages.

In the new tariff, the pricing of monthly packages has become very costly, up to Rs500, and 15-day hybrid packages have become up to Rs300 more costly as compared to the previous one.

The weekly hybrid packages have become up to Rs130 costlier. The pricing of three-day packages has been increased up to Rs21, while the pricing of two-day packages has increased up to Rs20. The pricing of one-day packages has become up to Rs5 costlier.

According to the PTA, the new tariffs include a 33 percent increase in revised mobile packages.

The regulator has informed that it has provided the complete details of all packages, including quarter-based tariff, validity, and services, to help customers make comparisons before selecting any package.
