ISLAMABAD: A high-profile theft case has been reported at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, with two computers stolen from the apex court’s premises.
The Director of IT at the Supreme Court filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Secretariat police station, prompting an immediate investigation.
Following the registration of the FIR, police arrested a suspect, Zahid Iqbal, on September 6. Iqbal, who served as the driver of the Secretary to the Chief Justice, was identified as one of the individuals involved in suspicious activities in the CCTV footage.
According to sources, another suspect, Faisal Khan, a Naib Qasid (junior employee) at the Supreme Court, is also implicated in the theft. Police are currently conducting raids to apprehend Faisal Khan, who remains at large.
The theft of two computers from the Supreme Court has raised concerns about the security of sensitive information and the integrity of the apex court’s operations.
The swift action taken by the police and the Supreme Court officials indicates the seriousness with which this incident is being treated.
