Updated list of countries allowing visa-free travel for Pakistani passport holders in 2025

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani passport holders can now enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 30 countries, significantly improving the country’s global travel status.

According to the latest data released by renowned global citizenship and residency consulting firm Henley & Partners, Pakistan’s passport has risen to 100th position in the 2025 Global Passport Index. One of the key developments in this upward trend is the recent agreement between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Under the agreement, holders of diplomatic and official passports of both countries will be exempted from visa requirements. The move is expected to ease travel formalities for government officials and strengthen diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.

A senior official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this is a positive milestone for Pakistan. “Increasing freedom of travel not only enhances people-to-people contact but also opens new avenues for trade, tourism and international cooperation.”

The list of countries offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to Pakistani passport holders includes parts of Africa, the Caribbean, Oceania and Asia. Experts believe that with continued diplomatic momentum, more travel agreements could be on the horizon.

The improved ranking is seen as an encouraging sign for the government’s ongoing efforts to boost the morale of Pakistani travelers and improve global mobility for its citizens.
