ISLAMABAD: After the Islamabad MoU, US-Iran talks will be held in Bergenstock, Switzerland today.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reached Switzerland along with a high-level delegation to participate in the talks.
The US and Iranian delegations, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir will participate in the talks mediated by Pakistan, while Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman will also attend the talks.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said that the Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with the participating delegations on the occasion of the Bergenstock talks. The meetings will be helpful in making the implementation of the Iran-US MoU effective.
According to the spokesperson, Pakistan will continue to cooperate in the implementation of the understanding between Iran and the US, and Pakistan will continue to play a positive role for peace and stability in the region.
It should be noted that US representatives Wittkoff and Jared Kushner are already in Switzerland, while US Vice President JD Vance has left for Switzerland.
On the other hand, the Iranian negotiating delegation has arrived in Switzerland under the leadership of Baqir Qalibaf. According to Iranian media, the delegation includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Iranian National Security Council official Ali Bagheri, Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, Kazem Gharibabadi and Esmail Baghai.
