Govt exempts class 8th board exams

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has officially declared May 28 Takbir Day as a public holiday in recognition of Pakistan’s enduring defense capabilities, here on Monday.

According to the notification issued by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, all examinations and practicals on May 28, a public holiday on Takbir Day, will go on as planned.

“All concerned offices, examination department, IT cell, R&I, and transport section will remain open,” the notification read.

Update on the Karachi Matriculation Exam on May 28:

It is a separate matter that the Sindh government has not announced any update regarding the scheduled matriculation exams in Karachi for the May 28 holiday.

However, the University of Karachi has declared a public holiday on Takbir Day, thus canceling all scheduled examinations.

The matriculation exams in Karachi were earlier postponed till May 27 and were scheduled to resume tomorrow, Tuesday.
