Women can earn money by working from home

Punjab Women Interest-Free Loans

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the e-Learn, She-Earn program to teach women digital skills and provide employment opportunities from home.

According to the Punjab government, the aim of this program is to teach women across the province modern digital skills and connect them with online employment and the global freelancing market so that they can earn a respectable income from home.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced this project to make women economically independent, for which Rs 700 million has been allocated. According to officials, this program will be run in collaboration with the Punjab Skills Development Fund and the Women Development Department.

Under the project, selected women will be provided with three months of free online training. The training courses will include important areas such as digital marketing, e-commerce, graphic design, virtual assistance and digital customer care.

The Punjab government will also provide free laptops to the selected candidates, while a monthly stipend, internet facility and a professional certificate will be given on completion of the course.

According to officials, women between the ages of 15 and 35 will be able to apply for the program, while for some special courses, the age limit has been set at 40 years. Applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab, while a national identity card or B form has also been declared necessary.

The government says that registration will be done through the official portals of the Punjab Information Technology Board and the Punjab Skills Development Fund. Candidates will be selected after merit and initial screening.

According to officials, the e-Learn, She-Earn program is an important step towards making women a part of the modern digital economy, which will especially benefit female students, housewives and young women looking for employment.
