ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has hit back at recent remarks by India’s military leadership, warning that any future aggression against Pakistan will be met with a stronger response than before.
In a statement shared on X, Khawaja Asif said the Indian leadership was trying to regain its lost credibility after suffering a “decisive defeat” with a score of 0-6.
“After such a defeat, if they try again, the score will be much better than before,” Asif commented on India’s cover-up of past military losses.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s military resolve, the Defence Minister said, “Pakistan is a state built in the name of Allah. Our protectors are the soldiers of Allah. This time, India will be buried in the wreckage of its planes, InshaAllah.”
Asif claimed that public opinion in India has turned against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government after what he termed the “worst defeat in history,” adding that this political pressure is reflected in the aggressive tone of Indian leaders.
He described India’s statements as a “failed attempt to restore a shattered reputation” both at home and internationally.
India’s army chief issues warning
The remarks came a day after Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi threatened that India would not show the same restraint in a future conflict as it did during Operation Sindoor.
Pakistan’s leadership has strongly rejected these statements, calling them “provocative and irresponsible.”
Pak Army expresses concern over Indian remarks
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) also condemned the statements made by Indian officials, warning that such rhetoric could endanger peace and stability in South Asia.
“These remarks may be an attempt to fabricate pretexts for Indian aggression,” the ISPR said, adding that India has long portrayed itself as a victim while being “the epicentre of cross-border terrorism and regional instability.”
The military’s media wing further noted that India appears to have forgotten the “wreckage of its own fighter jets” and Pakistan’s demonstrated defence capabilities.
