Pakistani actress and television host Ayesha Omar has sparked discussion on social media after reacting to Karachi’s position in the Global Livability Index 2026, where the city was ranked as the fourth least livable city in the world.

Sharing the report on her Instagram Story, Ayesha remarked that the ranking came as no surprise to her. She added that people who continue to live and work in Karachi deserve recognition for enduring difficult conditions every day.
The actress praised Karachi residents for coping with damaged roads, heavy traffic congestion, frequent electricity and gas shortages, and ongoing concerns about crime. Despite these challenges, she said, citizens continue to work hard, pay taxes, and make valuable contributions to Pakistan’s economy. According to Ayesha, surviving and thriving under such circumstances is an achievement worthy of appreciation.
Her comments quickly attracted attention online, with many social media users agreeing that Karachi residents face extraordinary hardships in their daily lives.
Ayesha Omar has long been known for speaking openly on social and public issues. Earlier, she was featured in a BBC report discussing online safety for women, urging technology companies and artificial intelligence platforms to take stronger action against image-based harassment.
Beyond her entertainment career, the actress also serves as a goodwill ambassador for a nonprofit organization supporting education for underprivileged children in Pakistan. Her recent film Mera Lyari also explored social issues, youth challenges, poverty, and crime while promoting hope and positive change.
