Salman Khan legal notice Case Over Kala Hiran Film Controversy

Salman Khan legal notice

Bollywood star Salman Khan has taken legal action against makers of the upcoming film Kala Hiran, accusing them of violating personality rights and misusing his identity in promotional material.

According to Indian media reports, Salman Khan has issued a legal notice to the team behind the project, including casting director Akshay Pandey, demanding an immediate halt to the film’s release and all promotional activities. The notice claims the storyline is closely linked to the actor’s 1998 blackbuck hunting case, which remains one of the most discussed controversies of his career.

The legal notice further states that neither Salman Khan nor his representatives have granted permission for the use of his name, image, or any related references. It argues that portraying a character resembling the actor without consent is defamatory and could potentially influence ongoing judicial proceedings at the Rajasthan High Court.

Salman Khan’s legal team has also emphasized that such representation may violate his right to a fair trial, as the case is still sub judice with multiple appeals pending. In response, filmmakers Bharat S Shrinait and producer Amit Jani have strongly rejected the allegations, calling the notice an attempt to intimidate the production team.

The film’s recently released promotional poster allegedly features a character resembling Salman Khan holding a firearm and wearing a turquoise bracelet closely associated with the actor. However, the makers maintain that Kala Hiran is inspired by real-life legal and judicial events and is not intended to target any individual.
