LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fined millions of rupees to a total of eight Pakistan cricketers, including Aamir Jamal for different code of conduct breaches, a local publication reported.
As per details, Aamir Jamal was handed over the highest fine of Rs1.3 million for wearing a cap with a political slogan, ‘804’, written on it during the first Test against England in October 2024.
Moreover, three players including Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique were fined Rs0.5 million each for returning late to the team hotel during Pakistan’s white-ball tour to Australia last year.
During the subsequent South Africa series, four Pakistan cricketers – Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique and Abbas Afridi – were fined $200 each for violating team curfew.
However, in a surprising turn of events, these fines against the Pakistani cricketers were later refunded as a reward for the team’s stunning 3-0 ODI series victory against South Africa.
The development comes when the national cricketers are under stiff scrutiny due to the team’s early exit from the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
