Australia vs England: Bowlers dominate as 20 wickets fell on first day

MELBOURNE: The fourth and Boxing Day Test match of the Ashes series saw 20 wickets fall on the first day itself.

The large number of wickets falling on the first day has destroyed the chances of the match continuing for five days.

England had won the toss and decided to bat first. The entire Australian team was dismissed for 152 runs in the first innings.

Josh Tong showed an excellent performance and took 5 wickets against Australia.

In response, the England batting line also failed miserably, and the entire team returned to the pavilion for just 110 runs.

At the end of the first day, Australia scored 4 runs without any loss in their second innings, taking a 46-run lead over England.

Cricket Australia will face a big loss if the Boxing Day Test ends before five days, as spectators will have to return their match tickets.

Earlier, Cricket Australia had suffered a loss of around $2 million due to the Ashes series Test ending in two days. Tickets for the third and fourth days of the match had to be returned to fans.
