LAHORE: The Punjab government has issued an important clarification regarding the Chief Minister Punjab Free Solar Scheme 2026, urging citizens to rely only on official information and avoid misinformation circulating on social media.
Only Eligible Consumers Can Apply
According to the government, the scheme aims to provide free solar systems to eligible households across Punjab, helping reduce electricity expenses while promoting clean and affordable energy.
Authorities said applicants must meet the government’s eligibility criteria. To apply, individuals must:
- Be permanent residents of Punjab.
- Possess a valid Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).
- Have a registered electricity connection.
- Fulfil other conditions outlined by the government.
Apply Only Through Official Channels
Officials emphasised that applications should be submitted only through the official Punjab government platform once registration is formally announced.
Government Warns Against Fake Information
The Punjab government reiterated that the final registration date and complete application procedure will be announced through official channels. Citizens have been advised to verify all information from government sources to avoid fraud and misinformation.
The government has warned the public not to trust unauthorised websites, agents, or social media claims regarding registration.
