DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled on Monday the shortlist of nominees for the ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for April.
The ICC Women’s Player of the Month candidates include three top all-rounders who shone in last month’s closely contested ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier in Pakistan.
Fatima Sana was in great form in April, helping Pakistan to a World Cup place with a series of spectacular performances during an undefeated week at home. Kathryn Bryce also had a fantastic month for Scotland, finishing as the competition’s highest run-scorer.
Hayley Matthews of the West Indies rounds up the shortlist, hoping to win her fourth Player of the Month award after scoring runs and taking wickets during the month.
ICC Men’s Player of the Month Nominees for April include Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Bangladesh, Blessing Muzarabani of Zimbabwe, and Ben Sears from New Zealand.
An independent ICC Voting Academy and fans around the world will now be invited to cast their votes to decide the winners, which will be announced next week.
