LAHORE: Pakistan Super League (PSL) will feature two more teams in the upcoming edition and the possible names of the teams have been revealed.

According to sources, Faisalabad and Gilgit are likely to be agreed upon in PSL. The Pakistan Cricket Board had shortlisted 6 names of new teams. The names of Faisalabad, Gilgit, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, and Muzaffarabad were among the shortlisted names.

The PCB has invited offers for two new teams. On the other hand, sources say that the dispute between PCB and Multan Sultans has not been resolved yet.

The PCB has sent valuation documents to 5 franchises and has offered renewal to the franchises after the valuation.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the franchises could not reach an agreement on the schedule of the Pakistan Super League 11 (PSL 2026).

According to details, the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League will be held in April and May next year.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started the process of selling 2 new teams, but the number of matches has not yet been agreed upon.

Initially, a proposal of 44 to 60 matches has been made, but the franchises want more matches to be held to increase revenue.

The franchises believe that each team should be allowed to play at least 14 matches in the initial round; however, board officials say that this will not be possible due to limited space in the window.

The team owners suggested that 2 matches each be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to resolve this issue, and discussions are still ongoing on this.

Apart from this, no final decision has been taken on the draft or auction.
