PSB disburses Rs 1.07 billion to sports federations & associations in 5 years

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has revealed comprehensive details regarding the allocation of funds to various national sports federations and athletes. During the last five years, PSB has disbursed a total of Rs. 1.07 billion for national sports federations and athletes.

Here’s a breakdown of PSB’s yearly funding:

  • 2019-20: PKR 25 million
  • 2020-21: PKR 42.42 million
  • 2021-22: PKR 69.5 million
  • 2022-23: PKR 423.29 million
  • 2023-24: PKR 509.13 million

Among the recipients, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation emerged as the most funded body, receiving Rs 115.5 million. It also includes a significant allocation of Rs. 100 million in FY 2023-24 alone.

Pakistan Hockey Federation closely followed by getting Rs. 103.65 million over five years with Rs. 59.15 million was allocated in the last financial year. The Pakistan Athletics Federation also received substantial support from the PSB, with a total of Rs 101.29 million including Rs 69.25 million last year.

Pakistan Tennis Federation got Rs.2000. 48.68 million, while the Pakistan Squash Federation received Rs. 49.92 million, reflecting the ongoing efforts to preserve the country’s legacy in these sports. Pakistan Wrestling Federation and Cycling Federation received Rs.2000. 37.93 million and Rs.37.39 million respectively, to strengthen its development programmes.
