LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the first-ever PSL trophy tour in the history of the Pakistan Super League, which kick-starts on Friday from Hyderabad and Karachi.
The trophy, named “The Luminara Trophy,” is set to tour 11 cities throughout Pakistan until March 29. This is to celebrate the culture of Pakistan, multiplicity of communities, and love for cricket, as well as simply to boost the physical reach of the PSL in the country.
During the tour, starting from March 11 to 15, the PSL 10 trophy will be displayed at various locations in Hyderabad and Karachi, after which it will travel to Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and Islamabad.
The tour’s second leg will be announced in due course. PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer said that this trophy tour aims to celebrate Edmund’s love for cricket and increase the reach of the tournament in Pakistan.
The 10th edition of the PSL is due to be hosted from April 11 to May 18 with 34 matches taking place in the cities of Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including two Eliminators and the final. The tournament will kick off with Islamabad United, the defending champions, against Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
On April 12, the Karachi Kings will kick off their campaign against Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium.
