Islamabad: Multan Sultans’ spin bowling coach Alex Hartley has joined some international players in observing fasts during the holy month of Ramadan, as per reports from foreign news agencies.
In an interview, Alex Hartley stated, “I am observing fasts during Ramadan. I always stay prepared to face challenging situations, and when the team’s boys are observing fasts, I thought why not join them to understand their experiences and feelings during fasting.”
“Our matches start at 9 PM, so I wanted to know how they feel during this time. In the state of fasting, they cannot eat anything throughout the day, nor can they do anything special. I have also started fasting. I have just broken my fast, which consists of dates, chickpeas, salad, and other items, followed by a proper meal. After that, we can eat until 4 AM, which is our last meal (Sehri). After that, we do not eat anything until the evening. Since our matches start at 9 PM, we sleep all day. I thought as long as I am here, I will fast along with the rest of the team members.”
