Binance, Telenor Sign MoU to Promote Digital Asset Innovation, Blockchain Education in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, and Telenor Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities to promote blockchain innovation and educational initiatives in Pakistan.

The signing ceremony of the MoU was held at Telenor Pakistan’s Islamabad headquarters, in which representatives from both organizations participated.

The event was attended by Chief Consumer Business Officer Waqas Amanullah and Director Channel Planning and Management Muhammad Shiraz Azhar from Telenor Pakistan, while Hamza Osama Khan (Operations Lead MENAT) from Binance.

Under this partnership, Binance and Telenor Pakistan will explore various innovations, awareness, education, and learning opportunities to support Pakistan’s emerging digital ecosystem.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to increasing awareness of new technologies and promoting knowledge exchange, including blockchain and technology-based workshops and online educational opportunities in collaboration with Binance Academy.

Commenting on the partnership, Tariq Eric, MENAT Lead and Senior Executive Officer, Abu Dhabi, Binance, said, “Pakistan is a very important market where the use of digital technology is rapidly growing, and interest in blockchain technology continues to grow.

Through this collaboration with Telenor Pakistan, we aim to explore innovative ways to facilitate access, promote education, and provide opportunities for users to engage with the digital asset ecosystem in a meaningful way.

“We are committed to supporting a more inclusive and future-proof digital ecosystem through innovation and strategic partnerships,” said Waqas Amanullah, Chief Consumer Business Officer, Telenor Pakistan.

“This collaboration reflects our shared vision for awareness, education, and responsible use of emerging technologies, which can play a positive role in Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape.”

This MoU represents the shared commitment of Binance and Telenor Pakistan to promote awareness, skills development, and educational opportunities related to emerging blockchain technologies in Pakistan.

In addition, PVARA has also issued a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) to Binance, reflecting broader efforts to establish a structured and regulatory framework for virtual asset service providers in Pakistan.
