Mobile services to be suspended in Pakistan on Election day: Interior Minister

Islamabad: The interior ministry has announced that phones will be blocked throughout the country as Pakistan gets up to vote and polling stations have opened just a few minutes ago. On election day, a number of Pakistani mobile network customers, particularly those in the federal capital, experienced signal issues.

Many people had trouble using their mobile data to make calls, send SMS messages to other users, and access mobile data.

On election day, residents in some parts of Rawalpindi reported experiencing similar problems, including poor signal strength and abnormally slow internet speeds.

It is important to remember that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has earlier denied rumors of any planned disruptions by promising that mobile internet connections would not be interrupted on election day.

Some users expressed their concerns about weak signals and bad internet connectivity on social media about 6:30 in the morning. Users from various networks experienced poor signal quality on occasion.
