NEW YORK: OpenAI has announced the sudden closure of its popular Sora video generation app.

The company announced in a tweet that it is saying goodbye to Sora.

The company has not yet said when the app and its associated API service will be completely shut down or what the reason for this decision is.

According to OpenAI, details in this regard will be released soon.

A company spokesperson said that we have decided to close the Sora app and API because our focus is on expanding the company, the Sora team will focus on advanced robotics research that will help solve real-world problems.

The sudden closure of Sora is surprising to most people because the company introduced the app just a few months ago.

This app gained immense popularity, but its download rate gradually decreased, while various quarters were criticizing it for being used to create deepfake videos.
