ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has begun the free registration of mobile phones for temporary time period for overseas Pakistanis and foreign visitors, according to media reports.
The initiative aims to facilitate visiting Pakistanis and foreign tourists and prevent them from any kind of fraud. Visitors can register their mobile phones for up to 120 days, and for each visit, they can register it without paying any fees.
This free-of-cost registration process is fully digitized and can be completed through the official Device Registration System portal at: https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs.
This system is initiated to ensure easy communication during the stay of the visitor and provide them with uninterrupted mobile connectivity.
