MUNICH: Xiaomi has officially announced the release date of its latest series 15T and 15T Pro smartphones.
Both phones will be unveiled on September 24 in an event at Munich, Germany, coinciding with the city’s annual Oktoberfest celebrations.
The announcement was made by the company on its official X account, marking an end to the weeks of speculation about the devices’ release.
“Far Closer” is what is considered to be the tagline for the launch, possibly hinting at a zoom upgrade in the camera.
This could mean that the Xiaomi 15T Pro will come with a camera zoom upgrade.
Xiaomi’s T series has established a reputation for offering powerful cameras and top-tier performance at a somewhat cheaper price point than the main flagship range.
These products are marketed as Xiaomi’s “flagship killers,” providing high-end functionality at more affordable costs.
Previous releases offer some guidance, even if Xiaomi has not confirmed specifications.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8400 SoC is anticipated to be included with the 15T, while the top-tier MediaTek Dimensity 9400 or 9400+ CPUs may be included with the 15T Pro.
The company is anticipated to release further information in the weeks leading up to the actual reveal.
Xiaomi is known for making affordable, high-performance smartphones for the budget and mid-range markets. The 15 series changes the strategy towards premium markets.
The Xiaomi 15 features a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 6.36-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and three 50MP Leica cameras. Xiaomi 15 Pro goes further with a 6.73-inch display and improved camera for high-end users.
The expected price for the 15T pro is Rs. 294,999, while for the 15T is Rs. 234,999.
