ISLAMABAD: Residents of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been enjoying intermittent heavy rain and pleasant weather over the last few days, as the Monsoon season finally begins in the country.

The light thundershowers, which are expected to continue throughout the day, will provide much-needed relief to residents from the scorching heat of July.

Moist currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating most of Pakistan, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), and a westerly wave is prevailing over most of Pakistan.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country.
However, rain-wind/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, upper Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, and Upper/central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A few heavy falls are also likely during the period.
