Islamabad weather update: Cold wave grips city, temperature drops to single digits

ISLAMABAD: The citizens of the federal capital witnessed light sunlight in the morning after which the weather remained pleasant with light chilling winds blowing in the city. However, the temperatures are set to drop below freezing point during the night providing cooler nights in the federal capital.

The maximum temperature recorded today ranges up to 18 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature expected in the evening will range up to 7 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level in the federal capital ranges between 40 to 45% with light wind blowing in the northwest direction at the speed of 3 km/h. Whereas, the chance of precipitation is up to 0% today.

According to the Met Office, Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while severe cold is expected in the hilly areas. However, Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas are likely to remain partly cloudy with light rain/light snowfall at a few places. Smog/fog is expected in most plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
