KARACHI: A day is likely to remain partly cloudy, hot and humid in Karachi as the Meteorological Department has predicted that the maximum temperature may reach 37 degrees Celsius today and the current temperature is 31 degrees Celsius.
As per the details, humidity levels are as high as 70 percent, contributing to the uncomfortable weather conditions. Winds are blowing from the south-west at a speed of 15 km/h, giving a brief respite from the heat.
The Meteorological Department has also indicated that the weather will be hot and humid during the next 24 hours.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during the hours.
Apart from heat, Karachi suffers from significant air quality problems. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI), Karachi is ranked 16th among the most polluted cities in the world. Within Pakistan, it is the sixth most polluted city, with a record particulate matter (PM) of 82.
