Karachi weather: Residents to witness heat wave in port city

Karachi weather update

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted dry weather in most districts of the Sindh province during the next 24 hours, however, citizens are set to experience warmer days ahead as compared to the previous week.

Today, Karachi experienced mainly dry weather, with temperatures ranging from 34°C to 22°C. The humidity in the city varies up to 60% and the air is moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 11 km/h.

According to the Met Office, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in hilly areas during night hours. However, gusty winds are likely in plain areas.

Karachi is expected to experience rising temperatures, reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius over the weekend.

The humidity level in Karachi will remain between 15% and 25%, but the Meteorological Department has ruled out the possibility of a heatwave.

According to experts, heatwaves occur due to prolonged suspension of sea breezes, high humidity, and temperatures exceeding 40°C, conditions that are not expected under the current weather pattern.
