LAHORE: The people living in Lahore got relieved from the sweltering heat due to rains and hailstorms, which brought down the temperature and provided comfortable weather conditions.
Heavy rainfall, along with hailstorms, occurred in different parts of the city where the sky was filled with dark clouds on Friday. There were also cool winds due to the rainfall that offered some relief to people who had been suffering from hot weather for some time.
According to the officials of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), there will be occasional rains throughout the upcoming week because new weather systems are expected to bring rains to the provincial capital.
As per official figures related to rainfall, Nishtar Town got the highest rainfall amount with 30 mm, followed by Lakshmi Chowk with 26 mm. 24 mm of rainfall was seen in Chowk Nakhuda, whereas Mughalpura got 23 mm. Similarly, the rainfall amount was 22 mm in Upper Mall.
On the other hand, Tajpura, Gulshan Ravi, and Iqbal Town experienced 17 mm of rainfall each, while Gulberg saw 7 mm of rainfall.
