PMD declares April 2025 among hottest months in 65 years

KARACHI: According to the data released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the last month of April has been declared the 7th driest and 2nd hottest April in 65 years of the country.

The temperature last month was recorded as 27.91 degrees Celsius, which is higher than the average temperature of 24.54°C.  In the last many years.

Daytime temperatures were particularly frightening, with an average maximum temperature of 36.40°C, which was 4.66°C higher than the typical average of 31.74°C. This made it the second-highest daytime temperature average for the month of April in the previous 65 years.

Meanwhile, nighttime temperatures increased substantially, averaging 19.36°C, 2.57°C more than the typical average of 16.80°C.

In addition to the heat, April’s rainfall was 59% below normal, making it one of the driest Aprils recorded since 1960.
