ISLAMABAD: In a recent weather update, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that light to moderate rainfall is expected in the federal capital starting from May 01 to May 04, 2025.
According to the Met Office, the heatwave conditions in the region are set to end soon with a change in the prevailing weather pattern. The Met Office has stated that a westerly change will start to feed into the upper parts of the country from tonight, while up to May 1, moist winds from the northeast will start to move into Punjab.
Pakistan preparing to challenge India on water treaty suspension, minister says Under this system of weather change, in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sahiwal, Faisalabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as rest of Punjab, intermittent thunderstorms, rain and isolated heavy rain with hail showers are foreseen from April 30 night to May 4.
Rain with thunder and/or dust storm for May 2 to 5 has also not been ruled out for Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sukkur, Khairpur, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and parts of Balochistan.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia mentioned that based on the directions of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz, all relevant departments, including Education, Health, Irrigation, Local Government, and Livestock, are on very high alert.
