KARACHI: The Meteorological Department has forecasted thunderstorms, gusty winds, and light to moderate rainfall across the country this week.
A new system of rains will enter Pakistan on May 28, and hailstorms and rains are expected in the upper region from May27 to May 31, according to the Met office.
Rainfall has been forecasted for Kashmir, Gilgit, Islamabad, Murree, and Rawalpindi, while parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan may receive thunderstorms and rainfall in the same duration.
Lower Sindh, including Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad, Umerkot, and Tharparkar, is likely to witness thunderstorms. The department has also warned that crops may suffer damage due to the rain.
Strong winds, dust storms, hailstorms, and lightning are expected in many areas, especially in the upper and central areas like Islamabad. These weather conditions might damage the infrastructure, such as electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels. The PMD has warned the citizens to be careful in these times and advised the farmers to adjust their farming accordingly
