Strong winds and rainfall likely across Punjab, says PDMA

L:AHPORE: PDMA Punjab has issued an alert regarding strong winds, thunderstorms and rains across the province.

According to PDMA, the weather is likely to change suddenly in most districts of Punjab from today to May 23. Citizens have also been instructed to take precautionary measures.

According to reports, heavy rain and wind are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal. In addition, rain has been predicted at various places in Bhakkar, Layyah, Faisalabad and Jhang. Heavy rain may also occur in some areas.

According to PDMA, the weather is also likely to remain bad in Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Sheikhupura and Khushab. Cloudy weather and strong winds have been predicted in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal and Toba Tek Singh and surrounding areas.

The agency has issued instructions to all commissioners, deputy commissioners and rescue agencies to remain on high alert. The concerned agencies have been ordered to keep arrangements in place for drainage, traffic flow and emergency response.

The PDMA has appealed to the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather. Caution should also be exercised when standing near weak buildings, electricity poles and trees. Farmers have also been directed to take precautionary measures to protect their crops.
